Â
Rwanda has become a transformed nation in the two decades following the genocide
that murdered over 800,000 lives. With a deliberate effort to confront the past, Rwanda
has become one of the top locations in Africa for business and has pulled many of its
people out of poverty. Its capital city, Kigali, currently holds the official title of ” the
cleanest city in Africa.” Students’ history trip to Rwanda is designed to study a history
that happened not so long ago and yet, sometimes, feels worlds away.
